The Mission 

A subsidiary of Strategic Biofuels Inc., Louisiana Green Fuels is a negative carbon footprint plant that cost-effectively converts forestry waste from responsibly managed and sustainable plantation forests into clean-burning renewable transportation fuels.

The Challenge

The company sought to develop a renewable diesel plant that would produce up to 32 million gallons of renewable fuel annually through established refinery processes with wood waste as the feedstock.

The Opportunity

 Louisiana offered a competitive incentives package that includes:

$200 million tax-free bond allocation, which would substantially advance financing for the project.

Qualified 80-percent property tax abatement for up to 10 years through the state’s Industrial Tax Exemption Program, contingent on meeting job creation and payroll commitments.  

Up to a 6 percent rebate on annual payroll expenses for up to 10 years, and a 1.5 percent project facility expense rebate for qualifying expenses, through the state’s Quality Jobs program.
