LaSalle Lumber Company Announces Job Fair For Urania Mill
URANIA, La. — LaSalle Lumber Company, supported by LED FastStart®, will conduct a job fair on Tuesday, Aug. 7 to identify potential employees for salaried positions at its new state-of-the-art sawmill in Urania. The job fair will take place from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Urania Recreation Center located at 6635 Tannehill Drive.
Qualified candidates are encouraged to attend the job fair with a current résumé. Before attending the job fair, applicants should visit the recruitment website at LouisianaJobConnection.com/LaSalleLumber, where they can view specific job openings and upload their résumés.
“We’re excited to begin the recruitment process for salaried positions,” said LaSalle Lumber mill manager Nick Landi. “Construction on our new sawmill is going quickly, so we’re looking to fill our salaried positions soon, and then we’ll begin recruiting for hourly positions in the fall.”
LaSalle Lumber Company currently seeks candidates for the following positions:
- Sawmill superintendent and sawmill supervisors.
- Maintenance superintendent and maintenance supervisors.
- Planer superintendent and planer supervisors.
- Safety coordinator.
- Controls specialist.
- Cleanup supervisor.
- Lumber sales.
- HR/office manager.
- Timber procurement manager.
Announced in February by Gov. John Bel Edwards, the project will entail a $115 million capital investment, create 107 new direct jobs, and result in an estimated 307 new indirect jobs in Central Louisiana. Operations are expected to begin in 2019.
