Globalstar To Conduct Career Fair For Covington Facility

COVINGTON, La. — Globalstar, a leading provider of mobile satellite voice and data services, will conduct a career fair on Thursday, Feb. 1 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn in Covington, Louisiana, located at 350 Holiday Square Blvd. LED FastStart® – the nation’s top-ranked, state workforce development program – is supporting the event.

The job fair seeks applicants interested in customer relations positions at the Globalstar Covington facility, including: customer relations specialist; bilingual customer relations specialist, fluent in Spanish; bilingual customer relations specialist, fluent in French; and bilingual customer relations specialist, fluent in Portuguese.

Interested candidates may apply online before or after the job fair at www.globalstar.com/careers. Hiring begins following the job fair, after applicants go through a job-screening and pre-employment assessment process. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States and are required to pass a drug screening and background check. Candidates must also be able to accommodate a flexible schedule, as the Globalstar facility in Covington is staffed 24 hours per day, seven days per week, with varying shifts.

In July 2010, Globalstar announced the relocation of its corporate headquarters from Milpitas, California, to Covington. The move also included the relocation of several other Globalstar business functions to Covington, including product development, engineering, network operation and control center, finance, accounting, sales, marketing, corporate communications and customer relations.
