What I do

President and founder of Emergent Method, a management consulting firm focused on developing and implementing plans, programs, and initiatives that result in transformative impact.

Why I moved away

“I went to school at LSU, got a degree in finance with a specialization in internal audit, and sort of viewed myself as the poster child for the Louisiana brain drain. Because I believed the narrative at the time that there weren't great jobs for someone with a finance degree to do work and to be able to be ambitious and be able to accomplish career objectives. I moved to Atlanta, went to work for Pricewaterhouse Coopers … I spent four years there – not just in Atlanta, but ultimately up in New York, working on a variety of projects.”

Why I moved back

“I learned a ton and really loved what I did, but I was married … was ready to start a family. And the strong desire to move back home got me there, and I was lucky enough to go work at a small Baton Rouge-based consulting firm. We were able to work on some really meaningful and impactful projects related to the creation of the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority after the oil spill, then help launch the Water Institute of the Gulf. And that was what inspired me to launch Emergent Method. Our fundamental view, even in those early days, was that we wanted to help organizations solve complex problems. And complex problems, we feel, aren’t solved by a single discipline.”
