Why I moved away

"I grew up in Baton Rouge and was a graduate of St Joseph's Academy, and then started out at LSU. I found LSU to be a little overwhelming, even though I lived and grew up in Baton Rouge. While I remained a fan of the LSU Tigers, I chose to transfer to Texas Woman's University, where there was a strong Broadcast Journalism department. Then, I lived and worked in Dallas for 10 years."

Why I moved back

"I began missing the unique culture of my home state, including my family, the food, the music, and Mardi Gras. I took a broadcast job at the NBC affiliate in Alexandria. I ended up staying here and loving it, and then my career took a different and rewarding direction. My son was able to grow up spending time with grandparents and other relatives, because Baton Rouge is not a long drive from Central Louisiana."
